If you know the lingerie industry, you will know that what separates a good fitting from a great one is the fit-by-eye method, where the fitter not only considers your measurements, but also many other contributing factors such as how your breast tissue sits, the life stage you are in, and the degree of asymmetry - all of which determine whether a bra will actually work for your body.

With Brarista's mission of democratising the boutique fitting experience online, it is also the method that our 2-minute fitting quiz is built around. Rather than asking for measurements alone, it guides your shoppers through how their current bra fits, including the nuances that generic size charts consistently miss. Sister sizing, brand-to-brand conversions, the difference between a 32DD in one system and a 70E in another - all of it is built in, because that is what a trained fitter would account for in person.

For most underwear and swimwear retailers, this fitting quiz - built and refined over the years alongside industry experts and real shoppers - does exactly what it needs to do. It gives your shoppers a confident size recommendation and matches them to the right size and specific products from your range. But for retailers with broader product offerings and shoppers who are particularly fit-sensitive, size alone may not be enough. Recognising this gap, we built the breast shape quiz as a natural extension of our fitting quiz, for the retailers and shoppers who need that next level of detail.

What does Brarista's breast shape quiz do?

Flexible sidebar fitting quiz entry points

Available as part of Brarista's sidebar fitting quizzes, the breast shape quiz guides shoppers through a set of visual, intuitive questions that assess the characteristics normally left out of the online shopping experience entirely. This includes life stage, body features such as a protruding ribcage, and various breast shape details including asymmetry, spacing, side breasts, and more.

What makes the experience feel different from a standard quiz is the level of personalisation built into it. The illustrations and questions adapt based on each shopper's size and body feature input, so the assessment feels specific to their body rather than a generic form they are filling in. It is the kind of detail a professional fitter would naturally account for in a fitting room - and one that most online shopping journeys never come close to replicating.

For retailers with a wide product range - or those who care deeply about every shopper finding the right product rather than just any product in their size - that extra layer of detail is where the online experience can finally match the standard of a boutique fitting room.

Quiz results that sit across your website

Completing the quiz, shoppers receive a personalised list of fitting recommendations as well as products from your brand catalogue that suit them best. But the results do not stay confined to the sidebar. A personalised result banner follows shoppers as they browse through product pages, sitting above the add to cart button and doing the work a sales assistant would do in store.

When a shopper lands on a product that suits their shape and size, the banner confirms it. When a product is not the right match, it surfaces alternatives that are better suited to their body, so the journey continues rather than ending in uncertainty or an abandoned basket.

As Tiffany Chiu, Founder of Juliemay Lingerie, put it: "What stood out most is how simple and personal the recommendations feel. It helps guide customers in a way that feels more real than a standard size chart, which has been very valuable for us." That confidence translates directly into fewer returns, higher customer satisfaction, and the kind of repeat purchase behaviour that builds a loyal customer base.

Can't we just build this ourselves?

The reality is that you could spend six months or more building your own fitting solution with consultants, product teams, and engineers. Or you could integrate Brarista in fewer than 20 hours from your team and be live in as little as two weeks.

For six years, we have worked alongside professional bra fitters - our founder being one of them - learning how they assess fit, understanding the questions they ask and why they ask them in a specific order. We have studied over 20,000 real fit records and tested with real shoppers at every stage.

During our beta partnership with Nudea, something interesting happened. They already had an in-house fitting quiz, built by a capable team. But when they ran ours alongside it, our quiz achieved 3x higher completion rates. Not because their version was bad, but because ours was built with decades of professional fitting knowledge baked into every question, every visual cue, every piece of guidance. Even well-resourced teams benefit from having that level of specialist expertise embedded in the experience.

The sidebar quizzes are fully customisable to your brand's look, feel, sizing system, and product catalogue. You do not have to become bra-fitting experts. You just have to partner with people who already are.

Isn’t this just another bra sizing tool?

Brarista has been in development since 2020, founded by a professional bra fitter and built on the premise that no single solution existed for the specific pain points of lingerie retail. Most generic AI treats lingerie like T-shirts. Brarista is the only all-in-one fitting solution purpose-built for intimate apparel. The breast shape quiz is one part of that broader system that has been refined over real-world use.

It is particularly well suited to retailers with a range wide enough to make shape-based recommendations meaningful. If your catalogue covers multiple silhouettes, constructions, and support levels, the quiz has something specific to offer every shopper who takes it. If your range is more limited, Brarista’s two-minute fitting quiz - included across all of our products - remains a strong foundation, and the breast shape quiz can be introduced as the range grows.

You can see a full comparison of how Brarista stacks up against other tools like True Fit, Gorgias, Prime AI, and Kiwi Size Chart on our compare page.
