Some news we've been itching to share. Brarista is now powering the fitting quiz for Fearless Swimwear, the Sydney-based brand behind Magic Sizing™, the one-piece swimsuit you can buy in different sizes for the top and bottom.

The quiz is live on fearlessswimwear.com, helping shoppers find their Magic Size and the right torso length, with no tape measure needed.

At a glance

  • What: a custom Brarista fitting quiz for Fearless’s one-pieces, built around Magic Sizing™ and Long Torso fits

  • Who it helps: shoppers whose bust and hips sit in different sizes, which Fearless’s research puts at almost half of women, and anyone who needs a longer torso

  • What it does: recommends a top size, bottom size, and torso length in one go, suggests alternatives in the customer’s size when it sells out, and gives Fearless anonymised fit data to plan stock

Why one-pieces are so hard to size online

Fearless’s research with over 10,000 women found that almost half (49%) wear different sizes on top and bottom.

With a bikini, that’s easy. Small top, large bottom, off to the beach. With a one-piece, you’re choosing which half of your body gets to be uncomfortable. Size up for your bust and the bottom sags. Size down for your hips, and the straps dig in like cheese wire. And if you’ve got a long torso, you already know about the wedgie.

Fearless fixed the garment. Co-founders Lyndi and Les Cohen built Magic Sizing™, so you can pick your top and bottom sizes separately within one suit, plus Long Torso cuts with 4 cm of extra length through the body.

That created a new problem: how do you recommend a two-size swimsuit online? Most size quizzes run on simple linear logic. Height and weight in, one size out. They can’t hold a 32E bust and a size 8 hip in the same answer, let alone work out torso length on top.

“Magic Sizing and long torsos weren’t things other tools on the market could typically do. Brarista’s ability to bring that into the customer and fit experience was a key part of solving our sizing challenges, and working with us to deliver it has been extremely valuable.”

Les Cohen, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Fearless Swimwear

Fit beyond standard sizing

Fearless needed a fitting engine that thinks like a professional fitter, not a size chart. So we built one around their patterns, using fit logic co-created with expert bra fitters.

The quiz sits on Fearless’s product pages. It asks the questions a good fitter would, then returns a complete recommendation: top size, bottom size, and torso length.

Two sizes, one suit. The quiz reads band and cup separately from lower-body shape, then unlocks a Magic Sizing™ combination, for example, a size M top with a size L bottom. No more choosing which half fits.

Shoppers get a complete one-piece fit profile, with separate top and bottom sizes in one recommendation.

The right torso length. Sizing up for length just makes a suit too wide. So the quiz asks one simple question: how long is your torso? Shoppers pick Regular or Long from two photos, each with a measurement guide. Long takes them to Fearless’s Long Torso cut, with 4 cm of extra length through the body.

Long Torso shoppers can choose the extra length they need, without sizing up everywhere else.

“What sets Brarista apart is the ability to customise to our needs, and being experts in the lingerie space and taking that to swim. We’ve tried a range of other tools in the past, with varying degrees of very average customer service and onboarding. This has been chalk and cheese.”

When a size sells out

Magic Sizing™ and Long Torso give Fearless customers far more size combinations than a standard range. More combinations mean more chances that the exact one a customer needs has sold out.

Usually that’s where the sale ends. The customer sees a greyed-out size and leaves.

With Brarista, customers get a next step instead. The quiz tells them straight away that their size is out of stock in that colour, then shows alternatives in their recommended size, starting with the same style in another colour. Each one comes with an AI fit note, and Get refitted is right there if they want to check their size again.

Sold out in their size? Customers see alternatives in their recommended size, each with a fit note.

It works for torso length too. If a customer’s size has sold out in Long Torso, they’re shown other Long Torso styles in their size, so the alternatives fit their body, not just their size label.

Long Torso shoppers see Long Torso alternatives, so the fit holds even when a size sells out.

For Fearless, a sold-out size stops being a lost sale and becomes a recommendation.

More than a size: fit data for smarter buying

Every completed quiz tells Fearless something useful, whether the shopper buys or not. Real bust-to-hip ratios, how many visitors need a long torso, which Magic Sizing™ combinations come up most often.

That’s anonymised, aggregated insight Fearless can take straight into production planning. Fewer guesses on fabric orders, less dead stock in combinations nobody needs, and more of the ones that sell out.

“The insights about what each customer is inputting into the fit quiz are extremely valuable for us. Even if they don’t purchase, we still get a really good understanding of the size details of the customers landing on our site.”

A global team, built around your brand

Nobody builds fit logic for a garment that didn’t exist before by picking a template off an app store. It takes a team willing to sit with your patterns, your range, and your customers until the recommendations are right.

That’s the work we like most. Our team works across several time zones, so there’s usually someone awake when you need us. With Fearless, that meant early mornings in London and late nights in Sydney while we mapped their pattern measurements into our fit engine, tested the logic together and tuned it before a single customer saw it.

Every brand gets the same approach. We shape the quiz around how your garments actually fit, the questions your customers ask, and the way your site works. No widget dropped in and good luck.

“From a customer support and service experience, it’s an 11 out of 10. We really feel like we’re in good hands.”

Les Cohen, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Fearless Swimwear

A note from me

People often ask why we built Brarista only for lingerie and swimwear. Honestly? Because everyone else ran away from how hard it is.

A t-shirt can get away with S, M, and L. A one-piece has to support a bust without wires, flatter two different halves of a body, and stretch over different torso lengths, all in one piece of fabric.

When Les and Lyndi showed us Magic Sizing™, we were hooked. They cracked it in the pattern room. We built the fitting logic that gets every customer to their size online.

What’s next

The quiz is live across Fearless’s one-pieces in time for the Australian summer. Through the season, we’ll track quiz completion, conversion, returns, and how often a sold-out size still ends in a sale. We’ll share what we learn.

In the meantime, you can try it yourself on the Grace High Rise One Piece.
