You may know is for our computer vision-based bra-fitting solution which we developed to provide an accurate fit for lingerie shoppers. I’m now thrilled to announce Brarista 2.0: our brand-new AI bra-fitting chatbot! We’ve been rethinking how we can better serve lingerie shoppers and retailers alike and Brarista 2.0 is the result. Harnessing our industry-leading expertise our chatbot serves as a personal lingerie shopping assistant.

 Today I’m giving you a peak behind-the-scenes here at Brarista to explain why we’ve decided to make this pivot. We’ve spent months testing, researching and conducting pilot programmes with amazing brands like Freedom Underwear, Something Wicked and Etam Groupe. It quickly became clear that there were 3 key aspects to consider when creating the new iteration of our flagship product:

1.        Changing user preferences: impatience and personalisation

Our initial focus when we started Brarista was to develop a computer vision technology accurate enough to help shoppers find their perfect intimatewear fit. But Klarna’s 2023 report revealed that getting the right fit wasn’t the only issue many shoppers – especially late millennials and Gen Z – were experiencing when shopping for lingerie.

Increasingly, today’s shoppers want a more personalised service with human-like expertise. They’re not looking to sift through endless web pages. Instead, they’re looking for curated, immediate response tailored to their needs, something our original solution didn’t fully capture.

2.        Retailer needs

Retailers are looking for more than fitting tools to help their customers. They’re also keen to cut customer service costs, particularly for repetitive tasks like answering FAQs or common fit queries. Our solution needed to evolve beyond fit and adopt a dual role as a customer support system.

3.        Operational challenges

On our end, we found that a heavy focus on R&D was limiting our ability to scale the value we delivered to clients. We needed a solution that was and impactful but also efficient at scale.
